Neulander begins to carry Leslie’s muscles just about to happen, out from the bath and you may on Jenna’s look at

They carry the girl mom to a place correct outside the bathroom and you can Jenna states it’s when this occurs, she takes a cordless mobile phone out-of this lady mother’s putting on a costume place, and you will reconnects into 911 user

Fitzpatrick thinks Jenna falls the phone and the label grabs, seconds afterwards, the actual time when she very first notices the girl mother: just like the Dr. It’s up coming she allows sagging a cry off absolute anguish:

“Since the bland as it’s to listen, it’s inconceivable that you to name try one thing aside from an excellent statement from shame facing the lady father,” told you Fitzpatrick.

Nevertheless coverage claims an identical name demonstrates Dr. Neulander’s innocence –that when Jenna runs into the toilet, there’s absolutely no blood toward walls but really. Jenna testifies she sees the phone of the bathroom, drops it because isn’t really performing if you are race to help the woman dad. On the shelter glance at, this is how Jenna sees bloodstream on the, and you will as much as, their mother. This is when she yells, “Discover bloodstream everywhere. “

“The latest defense’s take on which is you to her mother can be acquired, before this lady, and the woman is responding so you can her mom, new blood that is for her mom and maybe bloodstream towards the wall and on a floor too,” said Stevens.

“One helps the idea that first-time she watched blood, she was looking at her mother,” Axelrod indexed to help you Stevens.

New D.A great, though, will not believe Jenna you will fit everything in she claims to did during the thirteen moments new 911 label are on the hold. Fitzpatrick tried it himself and you can states they took your from the fifty moments.

There can be another part of Jenna’s testimony which may be essential. She informs this new jury one to given that their father try looking after the lady mommy in the bedroom, she saw him cut off a bloodstream-over loaded top and you can throw they aside. Now contemplate, brand new coverage recommended one putting which soft clothing might have brought about a number of the blood splatter throughout the rooms. But the clothing is never discover.

“She’d state no,” Fitzpatrick said. “I don’t think in her own attention Jenna believes that her dad did which. I do believe the woman is created a defensive industry in her head where mommy tucked and you will decrease on the bath.”

“I am alarmed that they are with an emotional response to the fresh heartache on the woman. . They know that the woman wants these to vote simple. Plus they remember that this 60-plus-year-old accused try impractical in order to reoffend,” Fitzpatrick informed me. “As well as the individuals thinking can enjoy into the hindrance out of circumstances you to to get shown beyond a fair question.”

The newest Decision

After 7 grueling days of testimony, District Lawyer Statement Fitzpatrick handled the latest jury one final time to own closing objections, inquiring them to seriously consider the new bodily evidence — especially the brand new blood spatter with the structure plus the injuries to Leslie Neulander’s human body.

“Once i told you a couple of times in the demo, Leslie tend to talk to you, girls and gentlemen. You have to hear this lady,” he told Axelrod. “Also to including listen cautiously with the words regarding Jenna Neulander in this vital 911 phone call.”

But there’s things this new D.An effective. cannot give the latest jury: just what the guy candidates try the fresh purpose one sent Robert Neulander to the good murderous frustration one morning. Investigators read from a buddy of Neulander friends one Leslie are planning on finalizing a rental for a separate apartment towards the day she passed away.

“Leslie are for her way-out. Referring to maybe not a man which can manage you to,” Fitzpatrick advised Axelrod.
